PayWithMyBank Power of Attorney way to get around?

I'm finally being forced into managed payments. I do not want to give anyone limited power of attorney to my bank account (read terms and conditions). Is there a way around this? I tried going to the manual verification route but it still makes me sign up for the terms and conditions of PayWithMyBank?

Any suggestions or am I out of luck? I've already moved some business off of here and might just keep taking it off with the craziness that is eBay lately.

Set up a separate account with your same bank. Don't link your eBay account with your regular account.

I've tried researching the answer for a few hours myself. Every bank I've talked to said not to let anyone (app or third party) have your user id and password to your bank account. This is simply ridiculous and I am considering moving on to another platform.

You can change your password after you get your bank set up with eBay.

yes that's true, but you are still giving them access with POA.

PayWithMyBank Power of Attorney way to get around?

The PayPal payment process is ending, so today I am being forced to link my bank account, for unfettered eBay access, for not only deposits, but also unfettered access for withdrawals. In addition, eBay wants me to log into my bank account through a third party app "PayWithMyBank".

What could go wrong? Does eBay think they are immune to being hacked.? There are numerous ways (screen scraping, hacked API's) that this third party 'PayWithMyBank" could expose my login and password.

#1 My Wells Fargo banker told me to never let anyone have open access for withdrawals on my bank account . This is the same as an open ACH allowing access to my account.

#2 Giving a third party my bank account login credentials?? Once again against Wells Fargo policy!

* I'm trying to figure out if it's better to stay on the eBay selling platform, because I'll soon have less completion with everyone canceling their eBay account - or should I just go ahead and cancel my account. (20 year seller)...
