PCS Collection Scam

I got a letter saying I am being taken to collections for an outstanding payment. I haven't used ebay in almost a year. Who do i contact at eBay to determine the validity and the next step in disputing this.

First go to your my eBay page and click the account tab and then go to summary. That will show any fees you may owe.    That could be a scam too.  Does it say what the debt is for and it's amount?

Legitimate communications from ebay will also be in your account messages. Is a copy there or did you just receive an email?

who is the letter from?

did it arrive by US mail or some other way?

how much does it claim you owe?

does it have a contact phone number or email?

does it give you a way to settle the debt?
