Noticed today the Fee % I'm being charged is greater than what FeeBays policy states-**bleep**

Here is the chat record concerning my issue:

Why am I being charged a greater % of the final sale of my items than what your policies state?
Order # 27-0***2-4***9
Sale Amount: $212.29 | Fees: -$26.94
Math: 26.94 is what % of 212.29 = 12.69%

Policy states 12.35%

In regards with your concern, final value fee is 12.55% of the total sale you made for the item, total sale is consist of the item cost, shipping cost and the sales tax.

For this item your total sale is $212.29 (item cost and shipping cost) the 12.55% of that amount is $26.64 plus the $.30 charge per every transaction.

I hope I was able to clear that out.

Using simple math, FeeBay's calculations do not add up (Item was Free Shipping).

Notice also some shady business that FeeBay practices-

*They admit to charging both the Seller [SALES TAX] as well as the Buyer.
*They charge tax on shipping costs (handling costs I could understand but shipping costs???**bleep**)
*They hold your funds and collect Daily Interest off of YOUR money while forcing PayPal and the idea of Sellers getting paid immediately out of their business model. (Guess they found another way to make money of us).  When I asked why the forced-play to Managed Payments, all they could say was "it's new laws and guidelines we have to follow. . ." but when I asked "What law/s ?" they redirected to "Managed Payments is good for everyone".  I suppose if you like being force-fed bullsh!t.

What happened to Freedom of Choice FeeBay????

Someone needs to startup an Ebay-like company minus the GREED!!!!

Mecari tried but the same issue with waiting to get paid (takes even longer than FeeBay's new Managed Payment system). Other failures include Offer-up and Facebook Marketplace as they also take too long to pay sellers, albeit they charge less of a Fee % than FeeBay! And Amazon is just too expensive to be a small-time seller (the monthly subscription fee up front is ridiculous) .

Anyways, always check what you are charged in fees, FeeBay sure won't!

Yes

*They admit to charging both the Seller [SALES TAX] as well as the Buyer. They charge the seller FVFs for the sales tax they collect, same % as rest of the sale. Would you rather collect and submit the sales tax to the buyer's state for every sale you make?

*They charge tax on shipping costs (handling costs I could understand but shipping costs???**bleep**)  Some states require that sales tax be paid on shipping, heck, some states even charge the seller sales tax on the fees they pay eBay, which eBay also collects and distributes.

Now eBay has publicly stated that they don't make interest off the money that is in their control while processing the sellers' payout. If that is true, they're not as smart as they make out to be.

@md_*auto-parts*coins*games*, I'm sorry, but you have a misunderstanding, and your math is wrong. The explanation from CS is correct, and you were charged the correct fees as explained in the policy.

If the buyer's total payment including tax and shipping was $212.29 as you stated, then the fee (as shown in the fees page) is 12.55% plus $0.30. Here's the math: $212.29 * 12.55% = $26.64, then add on the 30 cents, and the total fee is $26.94, which is exactly what you said you were charged.

If you were not in MP, you would have been charged 10.2% (eBay FVF) plus PayPal fees of 2.9% plus $0.30. That works out to 13.1% + $0.30, instead of 12.55% + $0.30. There's a bit of a difference because the 10.2% doesn't include sales tax. The two fee schedules work out to be the same at about 6% sales tax. So I think that the average sales tax rate is probably 6%.

[misunderstood] Math: 26.94 is what % of 212.29 = 12.69%

$6.16 = $212.29 at 2.90% PayPal processing
$21.65 = $212.29 at 10.20% eBay FVF
$0.30 = fixed fee
$28.11 total fees for PayPal and eBay

$26.64 = $212.29 at 12.55% Managed Payments FVF
$0.30 = fixed fee
$26.94 total fees for Managed Payments

PayPal is 2.9% +  30 cents

eBay FVF is now 10.2%

Managed Payments FVF is now 12.55% +  30 cents

Previously, eBay charged FVF on item cost + shipping. Sales tax was collected at PayPal.

Now, eBay charges FVF on item cost + shipping + sales tax. Sales tax now collected at eBay.

$20.40 = $199.99 at 10.20% eBay FVF
$0.30 = fixed fee
$26.86 total fees for PayPal and eBay

The sales tax on the shipping is dependent on the state it was bought from (or going to, I forget). Not all states are tax free on shipping. If I bought it from California, I wouldn't pay sales tax on shipping. Whereas, if I bought it from Texas, I believe I would.

Why do sellers get charged taxes if the buyer is paying them? So as a seller do you also have to pay taxes on the income you made at the end of the day? Because you'll need to pay taxes as a sole proprietor! So you pay taxes when buying items you are selling - pay taxes when you are selling these items - then your buyers pay taxes on the same items - then get taxed on the income you made a sole proprietor on the same items . This is not adding up!
