New Payment System

The new payment system is horrible. Now my money is being held hostage, WHY ?

I need the upfront payment for shipping supplies and fee's. I'm just trying to clear out my garage. There must a hidden way EBay is making money on this. There are not doing any favors for sure.

You don't have to front the money. Just set your Shipping form to draw the postage from the buyer's pending funds. You will find the setting for that at the lower left corner of the Shipping form. (Granted, that's for paying the postage, not buying shipping supplies themselves. You need to have the packaging in hand when listing the item, so that you have some idea of the package dimensions and weight.)

The funds themselves are not "pending;" it's the transfer to your bank that's pending. eBay already has the buyer's payment, which is why you can use a portion of it to purchase the shipping on-line.

If you listed it and sold it I'm assuming you already have shipping supplies and you are ready to ship. As AC said the shipping charge comes right out of your pending so there is no reason to wait to ship.

This ^^ As well, the fees you are concerned about are already taken care of.  Just pack and ship the item - pending payments are already authorized by the original payment source, they're just being processed so you are good to go.
