If I sell an item for $24.90 +$4.80 shipping paid by the buyer, and I paid $3.51 shipping (which nets me an extra $1.29 with seller shipping discount) and it says $25.45= my net proceeds, does the $25.45 account for all of the previous costs mentioned?
In other words, does $25.45= my out the door takeway with no need to add or subtract shipping because it already includes shipping?

I think I understand what you're asking, so I'll take a stab at answering it for you.
You will receive whatever amount eBay says you will receive.
It will be (usually)
the total amount collected from the buyer
Less 12.55% of that total (in most cases) for final value fee
Less 30¢ fee (an additional part of the final value fee)
Less state sales tax collected from your buyer (which they supposedly remit to the buyers state)
You then pay for shipping out of your own pocket. In the description you provided, you will pay $3.51 for the label and your net becomes the amount calculated above, less the cost of your label.

You will not net $25.45 on the sale of an item for $24.90.
$25.45 may be your net after eBay fees, but before you buy postage. How much did eBay charge you in fees? Did the buyer pay sales tax?

Should have mentioned in my above - you won't see the amount of sales taxes anywhere. The transaction details will reveal how much total the buyer paid and in most cases, it will be higher than the amount you see as the total sale. That difference is (in most cases) the the amount your buyer paid in sales tax. You see none of that.

you sell an item for $24.90 + Shipping for $4.80 + say 8 percent tax that ebay collects for you.
So your total final value fees will be based on 24.90+ 4.80+ 2.37 tax = 32.07 is the total technically received by you.
So final value fees at 12.55 %is 4.02 or so for your final value fees.
$32.07 total received technicality (Ebay does the tax part by collecting paying it for you)
- $2.37 tax at say 8%, (note tax per state, and county, town, varies.)
- $4.02 final value fees.
- $3.51 Shipping cost to you.
Any listing fees would go here....
So you should be getting aprox $22.17 (that is if no list fee, or the tax is correct and so on...)
Do not forget to subtract your cost of item from that also to find out if you making money or not...

$29.70 (List Price of your item paid by the buyer+Shipping paid by the buyer)
- 3.73 (eBay FVF @ 12.55%, fees vary by category, seller level, etc.)
- .30 (eBay per Transaction fee)
--------
$25.67 (This is the amount paid to you after eBay fees)
- 3.51 (Shipping label, purchased by you)
--------
$22.16 (Net proceeds, assuming you paid $0 for the item you sold)

Hi-wanted to ask if you could help me figure out where you came up with the 12.55% and total? That's the only part I'm not getting lol. I understand everything else but that section. I looked it up on ebay and still don't get it. Thanks in advance for your help. Really appreciate it. J Rene'e.
