Did you all sign up for the managed money thing? Do we have to sign up for it or can we just keep using Paypal? Thoughts? I have heard you have to wait 4 or 5 days to get your money?

When instructed to do so you must sign up if you want to continue to sell.

Buyer pays. eBay confirms the payment, and it is time to ship within your handling time just as when PP said "OK to ship". 

eBay managed payments(MP) does not "front" the payment the way PP did.

It takes 1-2 days to process the payment to "completed", and the funds become "available".  The next "business day" after available the funds go to "payout".

Daily payouts are the "default setting".  Daily does not mean you will be paid DAILY. It means that on a "business day" (M-F) you will get a "payout" of the funds that are "available for payout".  There is an option to select "weekly" (done on Tuesdays).

My "payouts" reach my CU checking the day after "payout". (I do weekly)  Some banks/CU's take longer for the funds to show. Payout notification will state that the funds may take 3-4 days to be credited.

I opted in over a year ago. Once you're in... you stay in. I wait 4 days from buyer's payment to bank account deposit.

No real choice in the matter, I signed up when it first came out...

I am glad it still lets me purchase my labels through Paypal as that comes out of the credit card, which means cash back... It's not a huge discount but every little bit helps.

I have mine set to weekly payments, it certainly makes adding up the deposits for tax time easier but as far as waiting... I think it takes about 2 weeks from the time a buyer pays until the money hits my account, this doesn't concern me much... Back in the days with Paypal there were times I had a huge balance, I always keep enough funds to cover all eventualities, that means returns and refunds and all that.

If you are living hand in mouth with ebay, I would suggest making changes in how you are spending and restructuring your finances so this is no longer an issue.  I have a business in the real world, let me tell you 2 weeks turn around is FAST, most of my customers it's more like 30-60 days from the time my work is finished until their money is in my bank account (and even that is still pretty quick to some companies, I've heard of folks waiting 90-180 days before, granted that takes deep pockets).

Yes every seller has to sign up for it. No once in PayPal instant payments are gone. Yes money takes 4-5 days sometimes longer to hit your bank.
