Managed payments

I am an RC hobbyist. I buy and sell for my own personal enjoyment. I am not a business, but eBay wants me to set up an account like I am a business. I have used PayPal for 10 years now without a problem. Now I have to link a bank account to sell on eBay. I am nervous about putting my banking info on eBay. I never have before. I used my PayPal balance as an account. I can tell that that this will be detrimental to the occasional seller and I do not think it will benefit eBay in the long run.

@jimjr1959

It doesn't matter if you sell 1 item a year or thousands, if you want to continue to sell, you'll have to sign up for MP.

As far as the baking information, they've had mine since I joined and never had a problem

Have a great day.

Managed payments

Unfortunately, there's not much to do about that - when eBay was forced to split from Paypal those years ago (they resisted) there was only so long before the relationship would be terminated and eBay had to find another payment processor. Most payment processors don't front the money before the customer payment has even cleared as did Paypal, which someone else here rightly called a 'unicorn'.  We were all existing in a sort of alternate easy-world.

I'm a regular seller with a store, but I can see how this would feel awkward for the occasional seller.  I'm a very occasional seller on another site, though (Mercari) and my linked checking account for them works fine (I use the same account for everything).
