Managed payments are horrible

So I sold a GPU on here and had eBay lock my account and hold my payment after more than 21 years and 100% feedback, with never a failure to ship.

My policy has always been to ship 24 hours after the payment cleared and this goes dead against that policy in which I used to protect myself from scammers.

Of course they refused to release the money and now they want me to play their $120 for an auction that was never completed.

I cannot close my account nor refund the sellers money, as they want to charge me the full amount of the auction and then send the difference to me after he gets his.  What kind of twisted policy is this, that I can’t just cancel the auction and send his money back?

I’m done with this crappy company!

You're not only experiencing a new seller hold? If you haven't shipped yet, can't you cancel as Out of Stock?

Yes, your account will take a metrics ding (and you'll be out your FVFs)... but that would be a way to send the buyer's money back. No? 🤔

Personally, I'd ship it. If eBay says it's paid for... it's paid for. Just ship using your Pending funds. Good luck, however you go.

It's  not a twisted policy. It protects buyers from plunking down a lot of money and the seller runs with the money and doesn't ship.

You sold an item that's either an expensive item or is in a high risk category (it's both) or you haven't  sold in awhile if your funds are held.

If the buyer paid eBay and eBay says awaiting shipment why aren't  you shipping? The payment is in the pay flow and can't be cancelled by the buyer.  The faster you ship the faster you'll have the funds released.  You can pay for the shipping label from the pending funds. eBay takes the seller fee from their payment.
