Managed Payments

Little skeptical about sharing bank account information on eBay market place. Hope , I need not monitor my bank every often. Last time I shared my cc on Walmart , some was busy using my account to buy items. At least in that case I could block the credit card and get refund. In this case money withdrawn from bank account is gone. This is bad for Micro Sellers.

Managed Payments

Lots of people simply setup an online account dedicated just to receive payouts.

eBay needs a place to send you money....the extent of any loss would be only what you leave in that dedicated account.....

(if you are that paranoid)

Managed Payments

If you ever sold before and used Paypal as your payment processor, you gave them bank and credit card information so that they could transfer money to you and charge fees and refunds as necessary.

Most sellers used PP  so long (I signed up in 2002, I think) we have forgotten that we did this.

One reason that signing up for Managed Payments is that some of the weaknesses* of Paypal are being upgraded after 20 years of experience.

I used existing accounts for two of my MP accounts and opened a new online no-fee account for two others. One of those is working fine, the other worked for a while then I was asked/told to attach a different account and I went for yet another existing account.

While this meant incoming payments were not be transferred (there was nowhere to transfer them) once eBay was happy, all the held funds were promptly transferred and everything has been smooth since.

* Nothing particularly terrible, PP remains a safe way to pay and be paid, but there have been intermittent frauds over the decades.
