Why does ebay need my social security number to sign up for Managed Payments?
I have a personal non-business account.

If you're selling it's a business and any money has to be reported as income.

Because they send you a 1099 at the end of the year. At least pay pal would not send you a 1099 if you made less than $20,000 yr.
