Yes, there have been a lot of sellers getting that email lately.
Not much to think about, you sign up and keep selling or don't sign up and quit selling.

I got the same email and didn't/won't be signing up for MP. I think it's just ebays way of trying to make you do what ebay wants. Since I have no choice in the matter I will be closing my acct before my date is up. I've been on ebay since 1998 and they really have the reverse Midas touch. I'm hoping paypal starts up an auction site

When eBay started notifying us about their new Managed Payment program I waited to see what was going to change. I wasn’t happy when I started reading reports about the delay in payment processing. However, as someone who has been selling here for 20 years I’ve gone through all the changes. When I first started selling I had to wait for the buyer to send me a check or money order in the mail and then wait for their payment to clear my bank before I could ship their item. There were some bigger sellers that took credit cards for payment. But most were individual sellers. Many of them resisted electronic payments because they didn’t want to pay the processing fees, This is the third payment processing program eBay has used since I began selling.
Even buyers were not thrilled when they had to sign up with PayPal in order to make a purchase. Each time sellers have resisted the payment programs. Change is inevitable and the only choice you have here is to comply or leave.
