Managed Payment Final Value fee Calculation

Just sold my first managed payment item.  The fee was slightly higher than I thought it would be based on what I was paying prior with PayPal.  The category was Toys so the final value fee percentage was 12.35% (plus .30).  The item sold for $20 so I expected the fee to be 12.35% of $20 plus .30.  WRONG its 12.35% of the total the buyer paid including sales tax so in this case there was 1.78 sales tax so 12.35% of $21.78 (plus .30).  STILL WRONG its is actually 12.35% of what the buyer paid plus the .30 cents so 12.35% * ( 20 + 1.78 + .30) = 2.73 plus the .30 flat fee so 3.03 is the fee.  So help me out here did PayPal include the tax in their calculation and did they include the .30 fee in the percentage calculation besides obviously charging the .30 ?  I feel like someone pulled some wool over my eyes some where...

Good points my friend.  That's what gets me sometimes is that I don't know where to obtain info and eBay doesn't always explain things clearly for us overseas sellers.  That's why I came to these forums.   Always a pleasure reading views from seasoned experts like yourself.  Thank you.

Google.  Google your question.

Ebay doesn't always explain things clearly no matter what site you use or what country you are in.  It can be very hard sometimes to get correct information.

Heck I don't even try searching in Ebay's policies to find a specific policy, I find that extremely frustrating and I rarely get the information I really want, so I Google it.  Sometimes it takes a couple of tries with rewording what I'm trying to find, but it works pretty good at getting the correct information.

I'm sorry I could not be more help for you.  Payoneer is a new thing to me too and I'm still learning.
