Lost item by USPS

So I ordered an expensive item on ebay Jan 5th and the seller sent out the item on the 6th. We messaged each other about if I knew how to use the item (it's an unlocked phone), I agreed and he told me that I should receive it around January 11th. Around the 15th he messaged me saying something must have happened to the package. We both contacted usps to get an update on where the package might be and we received nothing. Tracking was never updated and the "escalated" claims were never answered. He filed a missing package claim with usps (he had insured the item) and he told me to file a missing claim on eBay. I filed it the next day and eBay gave me until the 5th of February to work things out with the seller. He refused to refund me and I had to wait until ebay stepped in. I was refunded the same day and never contacted the seller again. I finally received the package March 13th and I'm not sure what to do, do I keep the item or? I'm so sorry if this is a bit long and messy but I'm just not sure what to do.

@hellokqueen91

You are not obligated to repay the seller for the item but it would be the moral thing to do or you can also could send the item back to the seller...ask him for a return label and return it at his expense.

I am sure that he would be very appreciative to have an honest moral buyer.  😊

You shouldn't just keep the phone & your refunded payment.

Contact the seller.

You can either return the phone or repay.

It's been too long for you to be able repay via eBay checkout.

Do you have a Paypal account?

If you still want the phone, pay for it. If you no longer want the phone, return it.
