I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later, when managed payments noticed that if they dont pay out money, it stays in their account and they get to use it / earn interest on it.
So they start writing no-reply letters telling you that they wont pay money into your account which Paypal had no problem with, and which eBay initially had no problem with! Suddenly your bank account is not good enough any more, principally because if they say this (and wont let you respond), they get to keep your money!
They started this managed payments system by holding on to customer's money for a week before paying it out. Then, when they could be sure no one would bother to complain (in an age of .01% interest rates), they have started hanging on to the money and not actually paying it out at all.
Should we complain to the FTC or wouldn't they bother with this sort of complaint?
Does anyone know what is the learning curve for selling collectables on Instagram please?

First is it not Ebay that does Managed Payments, it is Ayden, one of the largest and most trusted processors.
They are PIL compliant and your haven't got a prayer with the FTC.
I get my payments every day.
So instead of ranting and raving and going to a site, like Instagram, which will give you zero returns, WHY is Ebay telling you your account is not correct.

So far this month I've received 14 payments out of 20 days
I received 21 payments in June

Does Adyen handle all of the managed payment functions or are they just the initial buyer payment processor?
There seems to be a lot of confusion on that one.
All of my deposits are tagged eBay Managed Payments, not ACH Adyen.

Yes, so were mine and obviously no one in their right mind would assert that no one is receiving their money! Just that suddenly (someone ) is holding on to MY money. And no, I dont do as many transactions as numerous other sellers so there is no strong reason to keep me happy.
I had never heard of this company. I thought that "ebay is now managing payments" means that ebay is now managing payments?

I wish I had a nickel for all the sellers that come here screaming about eBay earning money on payment holds.
To clear up the misconceptions and confusion eBay announced March 10, 2012 that held funds are in a non-interest bearing account. That hasn't changed.
What has changed is in Managed Payments ADYEN is processing payments instead of PayPal. PayPal gave the money to the seller. ADYEN gives the money to eBay. eBay puts the money into the seller's account.

the Managed Payments process is clear in eBay's overview description.....but the actual nuts and bolts are kinda muddy and there is more guessing and conjecture than actual facts.
I've got a good idea on how it operates simply by applying good business practices and revenue stream maximization strategies. However, all that really matters is the end result which is exactly what the overview describes....everything else falls into day to day operations stuff that is eBay's business.

Oh well, - obviously, - if there is some element of muddiness about who is actually responsible for not paying me my money, that's all right then!
On the "If I had a nickel" argument, I didnt know there were that many people complaining about this. I thought people were saying I must be lying because ebay had paid them!
(Kinda akin to the Donald Trump argument about his feeling full after a large meal disproving world hunger)

Oh well, - obviously, - if there is some element of muddiness about who is actually responsible for not paying me my money, that's all right then! Contacting eBay's customer service department is probably your best bet. When I converted to MP 2 years ago, there were a couple of issues that needed to be worked through and a phone call with the Managed payment folks solved them immediately.
On the "If I had a nickel" argument, I didnt know there were that many people complaining about this. I thought people were saying I must be lying because ebay had paid them! Same answer...definitely contact their CS folks
(Kinda akin to the Donald Trump argument about his feeling full after a large meal disproving world hunger) Not sure what your meaning with this comment, so I've got nothing for ya.
Be sure to post back what the customer service folks with Managed Payments tell you is the issue as others would possibly learn from your experience.

Is that even possible any more? I thought ebay discontinued all telephone support when the pandemic hit?
I thought they now sent users chasing their tails in circles to the help ages; Where they have some algorithm try to identify your problem from the words you use and ALWAYS get it wrong.

If you navigate the help menu till you arrive at the "Ask eBay for help" option....the only method they currently list is a return telephone call. I've never had to wait more than 25 minutes for a call from them in the past when I've had a question.

OK I'll try that, good idea if they will call, - when one gets any ebay rep on the phone, they are usually quite helpful.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with them.

Calls are pointless. Almost 2 months now, still can't get anywhere with chats or even calling them. They say it's a wide spread technical issue that my checking account doesn't get accepted, but that I should stay with eBay... even though selling is impossible now and they're not giving me my money sitting in there from sales? Like no joke, in 6 days it will have been 2 months of... nothing. It will be even less in 2 days when they outright BLOCK me from making any new sales.
I wish there was a legal avenue i could take.
