I find it interesting eBay is suddenly too lazy to process payments over the weekend now. Does this mean as a seller I can call Monday a non-business day for shipping now? Nothing like the good ole eBay bait and switch...

Not sure if it is eBay's policy or Adyen the payment processor

@coastaltechsolution - many sellers were seeing payments process throughout the weekend and move to "completed" status to be available to be paid out on Monday previously.
It looks to me like another unannounced change, not a limitation of Adyen.

Regardless makes me wonder if I should come into the office Sunday to process weekend orders so they can go out Monday.

eBay doesn't process payments - Adyen does.
That aside ...
Whether you work over the weekend or not is entirely up to you.
Whether you consider Monday to be a work day or not is is entirely up to you.
You've been on eBay long enough to know that.

If eBay is too lazy to work over the weekend why should I as a seller?
Because you have nothing better to do and/or you like making more money than you might if you didn't work weekends.
Now if working weekends isn't doing anything for you then maybe you should reexamine your work schedule a do as eBay does with payments.

It has nothing to do with eBay.
ACH payments can settle only when the Fed’s National Settlement Service is open. Currently, the service does not process on Saturdays, Sundays, or federal holidays.
The receiving bank also has to be open for the receipt, processing or transmission of items as well. While this would generally coincide with the above schedule, I suppose it's possible something like a natural disaster might interfere with a bank's ability to be available to send/receive/process ACH payments.

The good news is, yes indeed you can knock off for the weekend, for sure. Put your stuff on pause at 5 on Friday and open back up for business at 9 on Monday. Who's gonna stop you? It's your business. Do what you like.
And, if you set your payments for once a week, you'll never notice that eBay/Adyen/Your Bank doesn't process ACH outside of normal bank business days.

There is no requirement to work weekends. Weekends do not count as a "business day" relative to shipping. And I often do not respond to messages on the weekends. But I am out sourcing on weekends.

I'm not so concerned about when the money hits the bank. I just want to see the payments go from processing to completed. I'm honestly not sure why they call them daily payouts though. "Whenever we feel like it" payouts would be more accurate.

I've been on both the receiving and sending end of ACH transfers and long before eBay, they never processed on non-business days.
Ever look at your credit card statement online? New transactions are usually listed as "pending" and if you use the card on a weekend it usually remains in that status until Monday.
Other things that can affect the "processing" time are what type of payment method the buyer uses, Amex vs Visa etc. Back when I had my own merchant accounts, Visa transactions cleared in one day, M/C often in two days and Amex 3 - 5 days.

My investment adviser sends deposits from my investment account via ACH to my bank checking account upon my request. They're always very careful to specify that it will take two to three working days.

You can make Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday non working days if you want to, and only work on Wednesdays😊 to process, and ship your weekend sales.

I do instant deposits on coinbase crypto to my bank for a fee, same with PayPal to Chase. Having my ebay funds instantly would be a big help, hopefully at some point they do

That decision would be up to the Fed’s National Settlement Service, since it's their "banking days" schedule.
