It might be.  Selling from Canada on a US site could be causing you problems.  You might better luck on eBay Canada.

Is that the same checking account you use for your Canadian sales?

I ask be what I know about this subject is the bank account has to be opened for the country in which the account is registered in.

Which would mean you would need two separate selling accounts.  One for your Canadian listings on the Canadian site and a separate account for posting and selling on the US site.

I will tag this thread, but they aren't back until Tuesday, so it will be awhile before they respond.

Thanks for the tag @mam98031!

Hi @hotrodding_rivethead - sorry you've had trouble getting things set up. In order to received USD payouts being Canadian you must use a bank or financial institution that allows USD deposits. The financial institution must be physically housed in Canada as well (a few more FAQs here).

A few members on the Canadian boards have shared similar experiences. You may consider sharing your post there and getting their take on how things shook out for them. The best place to post is Seller Central (link here).

Some folks hang out here too (paging @femmefan1946) and they may be able to share what worked for them as well.

Thanks!

No.

Any member can sell on any site, no matter where they are registered.

However, all their payments will go to the Managed Payments account where the member is registered.

If the payment were in USD, but the MP account registered in Canada with a bank account in loonies (Canadian dollars)  MP would change the currency before depositing the USD payment in the Canadian bank account.

More than half my sales are from dotCOM listings in USD, but all my MP money goes to my Canadian bank in loonies.

There are a few other details. The listing on dotCOM must be in USD. The location is the location of the goods not of the seller or of the chosen website. The seller must ship to the USA (but need not ship to her own country). The listing must use Flat Rate Shipping, since the domestic shipping defaults to USPS and other American shipping services.

OTOH- A US registered seller can double the number of available listings by listing on dotCA (Canada).  He may be able to do the same on any eBay site.

@femmefan1946

Thank you for all that wonderful information.  I'm very happy to hear it is easier than I thought it was.  Happy to be wrong on this.  Again, thank you.
