I have received the dreaded invitation to join MP. It would be convenient for that to happen around May 15th. I was wondering, as long as they are happy with your banking info, how long is it taking between signing up and ebay stopping PayPal deposits? Is there an average time frame? I'll close my secondary account, since it has been invited to join a week later, either moving stuff to the main account or the garage sale/Goodwill box.

Besides the info that @buyselljack2016 has... here's something else to think about. Your active listings will sell in the manner in which they are listed at the time the change occurs. You have listings up that end in 12 days, for example. If you have listings to spare, you might want to End and Relist some/all of them to buy yourself another 30 days under PayPal.
Just thinking outside the box. Good luck and welcome aboard.

The time frame seems to vary.
Some are given a date when they are asked to update.
They "were" giving a notification when it is about to happen, but some claim that the whole process was a complete surprise.

I don't think there is any set time before they switch you over.
My bank was already verified with Ebay when i signed up and my account was switched over in a few minutes.

Oooh, that's excellent advice! I'm currently moving stuff over from my other account by copy/paste/find photo, as well as just ending items (less than 50 on that account) and putting them in goodwill box. Learning that anything listed under PayPal will stay with PayPal until the next auto relist makes me want to drag out the process until say two days before my 5/21 deadline and end/relist everything I can close to that date. My thought of trying to have it happen about the 15th was to keep it straight in my mind that mid-month I changed over, but if I can drag out the time on PayPal, I will!

And to be extra, extra overt (LOL)... if you have absolutely enough listings left, monitor them daily; maybe even End/Relist a listing more than once. Lest your change be "switched over in a few minutes", as @kensgiftshop experienced.
Once you're pickled, you'll never be a cucumber again.
I have way more available listings than I use and my daily routine is to check 'Active' listings and filter by 'Ending today'... just to make sure it's not a good day to do something about something. Godspeed.

"Auctions" pay as listed.
Is it etched in stone that preexisting "fixed price" will also carry on with PP after a switchover to MP???

Well, heck! Before posting my question I went through the very simple process (basically checking to see that name and address was correct as they had it, and adding only the last four of SSN) to see what was required, then stopped when it got to banking info and clicked "add later". Now I get: Congratulations! Since you updated your account details, eBay is now managing payments for your account. So I guess I'm stuck giving my banking info today, because I've seen stories of having payments in limbo and I don't want that! So word to the wise, there is apparently no "pausing" in the process!

Mine didn't.
All I do is fixed priced and all my listings were changed in just a few minutes from signing up..

Now that it seems I was instantly added, I suspect that 11 years ago our bank account was used as a back up source of funding on this account. Jeez, they shouldn't be doing an auto add (if they indeed have) with that info because people change banks, although we did not. I sold some rubber duckies this morning, I suspect that is my last PayPal transaction.

I can tell you it's probably going to take as long to deposit in your account as it takes to move money from your personal bank account into your PayPal account, which is about four business days not including weekends which is ridiculous. I'm telling you in this day and age of technology, the banks need to get with it and speed up their handling time. They work too darn slow.

Occurs to me they never asked me for daily vs weekly payments. I don't know what my status is at this point!

Default is "daily".
Easy to check/change. Hover on "payments". Click on "Payout settings".
Can be switched back & forth at will.
I am on weekly, but switched to daily as a test after a "Holiday to get a payment.
Got my payment, switched back with just a click of the mouse.

Well, you learn something everyday. I'm so sorry, cliff. Way back when I signed up (2019) it acted differently... promise.
I apologize for the bad advice. 😥

It took less than 24 hours for me. I gave my info, and then about 30 minutes later I got a message saying that it had been accepted and I was all set up. I sold an item the next day, and it was processed through MP instead of PayPal.
