Since changing over to the new eBay payment system, I'm at a loss at what has improved here. I don't sell a lot, and right now I'm selling some AV Receivers for a friend of mine. I sold one for $280+45 shipping. eBay took out $43 in fees, then sat on the money for 3-4 days. (Paypal would have immediately given access to funds.) Looking in my seller account, I can see I have $40 that hasn't yet been invoiced. What is this? Shouldn't I have already paid my seller fees from the $43 they took out up front? And because I cannot see a way to view any information on the $40 charge, I have no idea what it is. Either way, after paying shipping, over a third of the money has disappeared.
Is there something that I'm not getting here? (Maybe the $40 is for something else, but the only thing in the last 30 days I've sold is under $50.)

I am really interested in hearing a reply to this. I have not sold on eBay in some time, and would like to come back and try it again. I am trying to research and read up on what the protocols are. I heard sometime back about eBay controlling shipping. Honestly I'm already having second thoughts about listing something for sale, I have been on eBay since 2002.

This is directly from eBay:
"The not-so-fine print
The new final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, inclusive of tax, shipping or handling, and any other applicable fees. The old final value fee was calculated on the total amount of the sale, excluding tax. With the old final value fee, you also had to pay a separate payments processing fee to a third-party based on the total amount of the sale, including tax." (Referring to PayPal which also uses the same metrics but at a MUCH lower percentage and the ability to instantly have your funds for a fee)
You're now paying an additional percentage (up to 10% on sales tax while shipping and the sale value are set at a lower percentage (ie. being double charged)) on all of your other selling expenses that are now bundled in the entire FVF, meaning eBay is profiting off of the additional percentages they now charge you for shipping, sales tax etc. in your FVF.

Use the drop down menu under where you see Hi and your name up on the top left of the page. Choose account settings. When that page opens, under Selling, choose Seller Account. When your invoice opens look for Fees and click on that. A page will open that will show you what the not yet invoiced fees are for.

Thanks for the reply. I have nothing in there. I also have nothing under "All account activity". At the top of the page, though, I do get this in a red box: "Your fee details have moved. Now you can see all your fees with your transactions. This page has limited fee information and will be removed. See your recent transactions "
That links me to my Payment Options page, where I can see they took $43.61 from the transaction. So I just don't know if the two pages aren't linking up or what and the $40 isn't going to be billed or not. The lack of information is, frankly, unnerving.

Right, but I don't think that's TWO separate fees just for eBay alone, is it? Aren't they rolled together and taken out at the same time? I guess this surprises me, because I sold a different AV Receiver a couple of months ago (for less) and I didn't see two separate charges, just the initial fee taken by eBay.

Managed Payments SELLING fees based on (purchase price + shipping cost + sales tax). EBAY deducts all fees (whatever is leftover is deposited into your CHECKING ACCOUNT).
You also have Monthly Statement LISTING fees. Could that be what the $40 is for??

I have that red box too, but still have an itemized list of all the fees being charged that were not deducted at the time of the sale. Those are the not yet invoiced fees. For me that is all the promoted listing fees I have incurred.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
