Furious with eBay

Not having sold on eBay for sometime, I recently listed several items. One sold. I get an email saying I must update my account before payments can be made. Okay. I need to add a checking account.  Can’t verify my info… a week later, numerous phone calls and even more solutions, I still cannot add my account.  The latest recommendation is that I open an account at another bank.  Are you kidding me.  I get that eBay gets to make their rules. however, if they needed more information, that request should have been made before I was able to list an item for sale.   Especially when they don’t provide a list of which banks will actually do business with them.  And, apparently many will no longer partner with them.  Very annoyed.  Item in hands of customer and I won’t be paid.

Most open a checking account solely for eBay - the name on that account must match your registered name and address with eBay exactly.

You also must provide your full SSN and once your payment source is finalised you will also have a hold on the funds for up to 30 days as a returning/casual seller.

My displeasure is that I received no notice of this prior to listing.  And, I have contacted eBay no less than  6 times at this point over the week, wait 24 hours and if that doesn’t work, call back… and have been given no less than 8 solutions to the issue.  Today’s solution is to open an account with another bank and see if that works. Because customer service has no way of knowing if it will.

No seller receives a notice  about payment holds because ebay assumes you read the policies that you accepted when you joined ebay. It's you that didn't read all you could before jumping into selling.

Below are a couple of important policies for you to read over, there are more but you can look them up by clicking Help & Contact at the top of every page or bottom right in the this forum.

Payments on hold | eBay

Selling fees | eBay

I have been a member of eBay for 24 years.  My bank account is the same one I had when I started.  You should contact eBay for employment.  You apparently know what the issue is that is creating this problem... they have admitted they don't know what the problem is, my bank has not issues with PayPal or other on-line services.  And if you do a search, I am not the only person having an "unknown issue" that prevents eBay from being able to pay me for goods sold.
