I just got an eBay message stating "We’re scheduled to begin managing your payments in May 2021, and you must register by May 11th." However, I am a full-time self-employed ticket broker. My entire business is tickets. As of today, tickets are still listed in the "Managed Payments Restricted Items Policy."
My business was devastated by the pandemic. This month, I'm finally starting to rev back up with my listings, and now I'm told I'm being forced into Managed Payments and won't be able to list anything. I literally can not afford to have this happen. Please tell me there is something that can be done to either allow ticket listings by this time or postpone my migration to Managed Payments. I am happy to be on Managed Payments, but I need to be able to list and sell tickets. Will this entire category effectively be blocked from the platform?

Sad and unfortunately, sure looks like it until further notice.

@geniusboy91 From what I have read, having you register for managed Payment doesn't mean you will be switched over until your category is fixed.
eBay sellers that frequently list in restricted categories will not have their payments managed by eBay until these categories are compatible with eBay managing payments, but we may still require you to register in advance. We will continue to support sellers through the expansion of eBay managing payments and are working to expand the types of items allowed by sellers when eBay manages payments through 2021.
Hopefully, they will keep their word, but knowing eBay.....................

That's an interesting observation. Here is the actual message for more context. I read your link from the Spring 2021 update. I do see in the message I was sent that it specifically says that I must register by May 11th. But it also says "We’re scheduled to begin managing your payments in May 2021" which suggests to me at some point they are indeed switching me over at some point in May.
The question then is, after reading the link you posted, what is required for eBay to realize that I fall into the category of someone who "frequently lists in restricted categories?"

Update for anyone who may find themselves in this situation:
I had eBay call me about the issue and after explaining the situation to the CSR, he reviewed my account and confirmed I did fit the type of seller who sold in restricted categories. He put in a request for me to continue to be opted out of Managed Payments and said I would be contacted through eBay messages for confirmation that the request was granted.
I will try to remember to update again when that happens. Additionally, before I had the information that rebell45 provided, I tried chat support. They said opting out was absolutely impossible, which is clearly untrue. So I do not recommend reaching out to chat support. Use phone support.
