@peacock1215

This is your third post on this same subject. Since this seems to be a different question than the one I attempted to answer for you in one of your other posts, I'll try to answer it, as well. Bear in mind that I may be a complete idiot and have absolutely no idea what it is you are trying to find out.

IF your cart is showing a foreign currency total, eBay will convert it to the currency of your country that is in effect on the day you make the purchase. If your currency is USD, you will pay whatever the USD equivalent is of GBP 23.53 when you finally press the "Confirm and Pay" button. Plus any sales taxes your state might happen to impose.

Assuming, of course, that I've not misunderstood what it is you're asking.

When in question... google 'GBP to USD Conversion' and enter the amount. It does all that math for you. Good luck.

Now I got a message to pay the GPD 12.90 & choose your shipping by the 11th. I never had to choose shipping before! Is that the GB way? I thought the shipping was already added and total came to GBP 23.53 I will not go into cart until I got that 23.53 in US $ and then i find out if there is ging to be more by another insufficiant fund notice!

Does Ebay take the US $ converted from the GBP $ seperately or whatever ?

You pay a conversion fee charged by your payment source when you have to convert your US funds to GBP so you can pay your seller in their currency.

It is not ebay's doing. You should ask your bank/Paypal etc what they charge so you know ahead of time.

Okay! I think we're getting somewhere now.

I'm going to lay out a little scenario and you tell me how far off I am...

You're attempting to make a purchase from a seller who is selling in GBP.

You've put this item in your cart and you're seeing both the GBP amount you expected to see, along with a USD amount (this is the converted to USD amount that eBay has calculated based on the exchange rate at the time you're looking at it, by the way)

Your seller (apparently) offers multiple shipping options - so eBay has to offer them to you.

(you are here)

Do I have this right so far, @peacock1215 ?

If your seller has offered free shipping, or a faster service for an additional cost, neither eBay or your seller has any way of knowing your preference until you choose which you want. So, you can't be given a total until you tell them during checkout.

Don't worry about the GBP amount if you're paying in USD. Whatever shows as your USD total to pay is what you're going to pay on checkout completion, based on the exchange rate at that specific time.

Also, the amount you see as the USD total in your cart is going to change each time there is a currency exchange rate fluctuation. Once you've paid, your rate will be locked in by eBay.

Bear in mind, none of us can see what you are seeing. You've been asked to help us help you by providing a pic of what you are seeing (black out your personal info and that of the seller). If you want a definitive answer (or, at least one that isn't wildly inaccurate), you're going to have to give us more to go on than you have so far.
