Ebay sent my money to a close bank account without my authorization. Ebay states that the bank accept the funds. However, the bank is saying that is not so. If the bank account was closed they do not accept payments on behalf of the old account holder. Ebay has done nothing to correct this nor have they contacted me. I have tried everything on my end to get this resolved and have no other alternative but to contact an attorney and see if we can get a class action lawsuit filed in the event other sellers were affected by this. This is misappropriation of funds by EBay and is just a bad business policy of not check with the seller before moving funds without authorization.

How did they get to account # to do that?
Funds are transferred per the UA on the schedule presented.

Where did they get the bank account number and routing number from?

I am sorry...but this makes no sense
if they had a bank account (closed or not) they have your authorization to send you your money.
OK...you 'closed' the bank account...
You, of course, tried to change the account in your settings to your new bank account.....
what happened there?
if there is no account for the money to be deposited into, eventually, it will resurface at the originators...in this case ebay payments (this might take some time)...eventually, it will turn up in limbo somewhere
A class action for trying to send you money?
that would be classic....

eBay can only send your payout to the checking account you have on file. You’re supposed to update your checking account on file when you change banks.
Apparently you didn’t do that so when you sold your Sony Memory card eBay sent your payout to the account you have on file that was a closed account.
That one sale you had May 23rd for $6.00 plus shipping was sent to your” closed bank “ less fees and shipping was probably a whopping $3-4 and you want to get an attorney to start a class action lawsuit? Ok good luck with that.

eBay cannot do that. They can only send the money to the bank account that YOU have selected as your payout account. If you changed bank accounts and did not update your payment information in eBay, that is your fault, not eBay's.

You are all missing the point. Yes, the user may have forgotten to update his bank account. But good business practice should provide a way to correct that. Once the user adds a new account and ebay gets the funds rejected and returned back to ebay, they should have an automatic system or a manual method for us to have the money sent out again to your new account.
If the funds are indeed rejected by the closed account and returned to ebay then they are improperly holding on to your money.

I'm having the same problem I can use my other bank cards and debit cards to make purchases on there. They've also taken their fees out and sent me to rest of the money, but they have sent the funds to a closed bank account for a 3 year ago. And that is Wells Fargo terrible bank. For 2 days, I've gotten team members to help me. Which were really kind? The last guy I talked to told me. I have to get my old bank account credentials that I can't get to. O, it's crazy to have other debit cards out there. They make their money and take their money out but won't allow me to choose where I want my funds to go or what bank account? I got 3 bank accounts connected, and they sent it to the one that's closed because it's primary period It should be a way to change that them. Or me, not me, have to go get these credentials. And that's the only way or I don't get my money.

I'm not a lawyer, but I can offer some general guidance on what you might consider doing in this situation. If eBay has transferred funds to a closed bank account without your authorization, it can be a frustrating and complicated issue to resolve. Here are some steps you can take:
1. **Contact eBay:** Keep trying to contact eBay's customer support through various channels, such as phone, email, or chat. Explain the situation clearly and provide any relevant documentation or information that can help them understand the problem.
2. **Review eBay's Policies:** Check eBay's policies regarding financial transactions, fund transfers, and dispute resolution. Familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions to understand your rights and responsibilities as a seller.
3. **Contact Your Bank:** Contact your bank again and request a detailed explanation of the transaction in question. It's essential to obtain written documentation from your bank stating that they did not accept the funds on behalf of the closed account.
4. **Dispute with Your Bank:** If your bank confirms that they did not accept the funds, initiate a formal dispute or chargeback with your bank to reverse the transaction. Banks typically have procedures in place to deal with unauthorized transactions.
5. **Document Everything:** Keep records of all communication with both eBay and your bank. This includes names, dates, times, and summaries of conversations, as well as any written documentation and emails.
6. **Consider Legal Advice:** If you've exhausted your options with eBay and your bank, it may be advisable to consult with an attorney who specializes in consumer protection or contract law. They can guide you on how to proceed, including the possibility of a class-action lawsuit if you believe there are other affected sellers.
7. **Contact Consumer Protection Agencies:** In some cases, reporting the issue to relevant consumer protection agencies or regulatory bodies may help draw attention to the problem. They can investigate and potentially take action against eBay if necessary.
8. **Monitor Your Account:** Keep a close eye on your eBay account and any financial transactions to ensure that similar issues do not occur in the future. Update your account information as needed.
Remember, it's crucial to maintain a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with customer support representatives and any potential legal action. Providing clear and accurate documentation will strengthen your case. Legal action should be considered as a last resort, and it's usually advisable to seek legal counsel before pursuing a lawsuit. Each case is unique, and the specific steps you should take may vary depending on the details of your situation.

You wasted your breath, umm, time. This problem was back in May.
The OP must have resolved their problem because they're actively selling.

And right now it's late at night so how did my money get sent with out anyone in office to review the transaction. They used to hold your money in ebay account and then you had the option to send the money to any of your account but now they are sending it themself. About to contact them in a couple of hours let's see what they say.

Ebay sends your money to the bank account that YOU supplied when you set up managed payments.
At the time you clicked LIST ITEM you were giving ebay permission to do so. You should have looked at your information BEFORE committing to the terms you gave.
