Ebay's ''managed payments' program

Paypal was able to have my buyer's auction payments in my bank account AND accessible within just a few minutes of their having paid Paypal. Ebay's new 'managed payment' program is unable to get my payments into my account and have them accessible to me in less than 5 days. Plus, I am now paying Ebay more in fees. So, how is this new Ebay payment policy in ANY WAY quicker, more cost effective, or efficient for the seller?

Ebay's ''managed payments' program

Being the sole proprietor of a small business operating on a somewhat small profit margin, I rely heavily on incoming revenue to remain solvent. I simply cannot afford to pay the high shipping costs out of pocket on some of the items I sell. Yet, Ebay is pressuring me to do just that when they can give me no good reason why, on several occasions now, they have not even scheduled a payout 5 days or more after a buyer has paid for an item.  Payments made from buyers outside of Ebay usually reach my bank within minutes, 24 hours MAX. To think that in 2022 Ebay could not offer a payment service anywhere near as efficient as the one some guy in backwoods Arkansas uses to make HIS payments is silly.

Yes, but remember that ebay's FVF percentage also applies to any applicable sales taxes collected by Ebay AND to shipping costs pay by the buyer.....neither of which Ebay has anything at all to do with and that the seller doesn't make a penny from.

Yes Ebay charges a FVF on shipping and has charged this fee for over 11 years.

As to sales tax, that is relatively new, that started August of 2020 for those in MP.  And only for those in MP.  So as sellers were onboarded to MP they paid the FVF on sales tax to Ebay instead of paying it to PayPal.

Some holds could be related to authenticating items, IDK.  Some things you sell have Brand names and Ebay is far more careful with these listings these days.

If you create your shipping label through Ebay, you can have your shipping costs taken from your MP account.  Or you could pay them on a credit card that gives you cash back bonus.  You will just need to dicipline yourself to pay it off as your money clears.

You have options.
