What a joke, Ebay's .30 cent fee after item is sold is nothing more than the .30 insertion fee they used to charge with every item listed. Listings aren't free, they charge you the insertion fee, be truthful and call it what it is. Greed, pure greed, trying to disguise it as something else.

Actually, eBay's 30 cents per transaction fee is just like PayPal's 30 cents per transaction fee.
You did know that PayPal also charged a 30 cents per transaction fee, right?

Well, that's a new one. The .30 is a processing fee and in no way replaces the insertion fee they used to charge, not at the 10% or whatever STR they have on this site.

Paypal is increasing some of their fees so I am not complaining about this 30 cent processing fee.

There is a lot of things people post about MP that aren't true...this is one of them. The $0.30 Transaction Fee is a PROCESSING FEE they pay to AYDEN it's not a listing fee or any other far fetched idea of a fee. It's not different then if you accept credit cards as payment, that isn't free, merchants are charged a processing fee for every transaction you process.

I am confused as you have been a seller since 2002.....the transaction fee is not new to us that sell on e-Bay. Some how so many Sellers understood their e-bay fees, but not the fees they paid to Paypal?
And I do not wish to go back to where we pay to list on this site again. Ever.
e-Bay used to be 10.2% of item + shipping + Paypal fees of 2.9% of item + shipping + tax + .30 transaction fee
MP is 12.55% (or less if TRS+, have a store, sell in lower fvf categories, etc) of item + shipping + tax +.30 transaction fee
Good luck and Happy future Sales!

Did you also feel PayPal was engaging in greed? They also charged a 30 cent processing fee.

I want to believe it's people looking for things to nitpick, but not realizing it makes them sound ignorant.
But maybe a majority of people just never paid attention to what they were paying prior to MP. Just saw they were somehow making money.
I only paid 3% with PayPal! While then leaving out eBays cut once a month. It's the equivalent of people driving for Uber/Lyft or one of the food delivery gigs and think they're making money while not accounting for fuel used. Or wear on the car.

It's not the same as an insertion fee because if you end your listing, then there is no 30 cent fee. It is a transaction fee, not an insertion fee, or it would count against you whether your item sold or not, and that's not the case....

I believe this $0.30 fee is a payment processing fee and not an eBay charge as this amount is the same across more than one payment processing service provider and items sold on your own website (No outside platform) and payment through PayPal occurs this same charge.
Payment processors take this fixed amount on a $0.99 item or a $10,000 item and their other fees are % based.

So when you get charged a fee it is greed, but you don't want to pay it, it is not greed?
I'm greedy, heck yeah. I want the most I can get for my item and pay the least amount of fees.
I guess the cost of doing business and making a profit is greed.
