I'm reposting this question with a because I think the last one was confusing to people. I won an auction last week and was waiting for another couple auctions to end by the same seller before I checked out so I could pay for them all at once using PayPal Credit to pay over time. This was NOT a Buy it Now situation, it was a regular auction that I bid and won. After winning a second auction I went to check out and neither item was in my shopping cart. The first item had been automatically charged to my regular PayPal, not pay over time, the second one was on a countdown to do the same but I caught it in time to change it to the credit option. Since when do they only give you a few minutes to pay?

Yes it's been expanded from buy it now to auctions too. It's an option sellers can choose.

You said this was not a Buy Now but a regular auction. PayPal Credit is not available for auctions or when making offers.

Yes it was a regular auction, and I meant it was not a Make an Offer situation, sorry. I have since found out from a couple people that sellers can make it an auto pay. But apparently that isn't shown in the listing, which I think ebay should make that known. It wouldn't have stopped me from bidding but if you are trying to win several items by the same seller it makes the combined shipping thing a bit more difficult.

It is not shown in the listing directly, but if you are prompted for or shown a payment method on the bid entry form, that indicates the seller requires a payment method in advance.

I wasn't asked to choose my payment method when I placed the bid and I don't recall it indicating what payment method I was using, but I will be looking for anything like that from now on.

I don't know about that. I just won an auction 3 days ago and paid 400+ with PayPal Credit. I was wiling to just have it charged automatically but when I checked my purchase history it was there pending payment.
I picked PayPal Credit to see if that indeed was true and it's paid for and on the way according to tracking.
Just have to pay PayPal now............
