Choosing PayPal payment methods during checkout (Was: Payment using PayPal no longer allowed)

every time (as of late Jul) I make an offer, my PayPal account is auto added

I have deleted my PayPal account via https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list but it reappears whenever I make a payment.

It would seem you have two basic options if you want to be able to use PayPal for buy-it-now payments on eBay and to be able to have the option to select your payment method through PayPal each time:

1) Keep deleting the PayPal entry each time you want to make a buy-it-now purchase and choose a payment method through PayPal, after having made an offer paid through PayPal

or

2) Don't use PayPal for making offers; then the PayPal entry will not be added back and you will not have to keep deleting it. Either use a credit or debit card for those offers directly on eBay, or skip the offers altogether

ALSO: Once I make a payment, future payments are auto paid without the benefit of my having to log into PayPal - DANGEROUS!

This may be based on the settings of your specific PayPal account rather than eBay.

If when you check out of eBay and select PayPal, you are sent directly to a PayPal account without entering username or password and you do not want that to happen, sign in to that PayPal account outside of eBay and use the Gear icon to go to Settings and choose Security, then check the "Manage your Logins" and "Auto Login" sections and either delete those entries or select "Log out of all devices".

If you are unable to sign in to that PayPal account directly, try using a different browser (or a private or incognito browser window) to see if that gives you the option to select a PayPal account when checking out of eBay.
