Changing how your refunds are funded on an item already returned

As a managed payments seller; is there a way to refund your customer after you received the returned item?  Once you receive the item and the tracking is uploaded, they remove the option to "send refund" so that you can change the funding source for the refund.

My buyer is awaiting his refund, but it won't allow me to do so!

Does anyone know how to accomplish this?  Thank you in advance!

I'm an MP seller and refunded just yesterday. Look at the Return under your Orders tab in the Seller Hub. It's easy.

As to your question about changing the source of the refund... if your monthly eBay invoice is paid with a credit card, you can also select that method over the default 'From your bank account' that shows up on the refund screen.

When you get a request for a return, eBay automatically holds the funds whether it be from your pending payouts or bank account.  Are you saying that we can over-ride the hold on those funds and use another option for the refund?

Yes... and no. LOL

The held funds  will be applied to the refund first. The balance  of the refund (if there is one) can be changed to be billed to your CC. In my case (from yesterday), there was a shortage of like $6, so I chose to take it from my bank account... but the option to change it was there.

The debit (to your bank account or CC) will be made by eBay automatically if you haven't got enough to cover the refund after 14 days. I suppose if eBay does it, it will come from your bank account. Depending on the size, that might cause overdrafts... dig it?

It's always better to be proactive. We sellers have so few protections left... IJS

They didn't hold any funds.  I'm trying to be proactive and refund the buyer before eBay has to complete the refund.  I guess I'll have to wait until eBay decides to refund my buyer.

They didn't hold my funds, which I thought was odd.

Yes, but there isn't an option to change the funding source once you receive the return.

Hmmm. Never had a return request in MP where Ebay did not immediately put a hold on the funds. How are you on Managed Payments and got Ebay not to place a hold on funds in a return?

To go ORDERS, ALL ORDERS (locate item), click down arrow and select SEND REFUND.

If however, customer opened "return request" then you must use that to refund customer.
