I have cleared cookies, tried different browsers, different desktop computers, and the mobile app.. and I've also tried buying the same item from different sellers.
Same red-banner message each time: "Please check your payment details or use a different payment method".
Gift card shows correct balance(s). And FWIW no problems using my regular credit card on eBay yesterday.
EBay Customer Service is USELESS. It would be helpful if they actually staffed the call center with people trained in IT and not just someone reading off a troubleshooting script anyone with half a brain could figure out on their own.
This is extremely frustrating. Any advice is welcome.
