Hi All,
Has anyone else had problems with the new cancelling non-paying bidders items as buyer hasn't paid? It seems that after 7 days that option is removed. From my 22 years of experience on ebay, it seems that filing non-paying bidder item strikes forced at least half of the non-paying bidders to pay up. Now with the cancelling the order option, buyer's have the option of not paying their bills so they don't! I'm having tons of non-paying bidders on ebay, almost as many problems with non-paying tenants. I'm in favor of bringing back the resolution center and filing as many non-paying bidder item strikes as the people deserve. Not one more, not one less.

I haven't had a non-payer recently, but like that eBay shortened the time in which we can relist. And, yes, I think non-payers deserve the Unpaid Item strikes... so many of us have the buyer requirements set to not accept bids from those with 2 or more. Hang in there...

Thanks for reply. I also do not allow bidders with 3 unpaid item strikes within a year and receive many complaints from the bidders with those strikes who can't bid. I sell vinyl lp record albums whose popularity is at an all time high. Records just seem to draw flaky people like bars draw bar flies.....

They get a strike with the new automated system. And eBay does send out reminders, etc. I think all the UPIs are because it's just getting to be a worsening problem here on eBay where so many sellers have open-ended TOS and the increase in new buyers here since the pandemic.
FWIW, I was reading in the information from eBay Open that the problem of UPI is going to be addressed. Well, we'll see. I sell on no other site that allows buyers to pay when they feel like it - this includes sites where offers and haggling are common.

Here's one on me... I had a buyer message me to explain that he wanted to buy an item, but couldn't because of 2 UI strikes and would I consider adding him to my Block Bidder Exempt list.
I did... and the buyer flake never paid me. THAT was my last non-payer. Well, to date, anyway. LOL

Thanks for your info, i'm looking to see how other sellers are feeling about this issue/problem. It seems to me and this is a gen x statement for sure: If you allow buyers to pay whenever they feel like it, they never do pay. The unpaid item strike system seemed to work for sellers who set limits on how many strikes they would tolerate. For buyers, if 3 strikes seems too little and too tough, i think 6-10 strikes should be the end and fair.
