DO NOT PAY him without a transaction. Tell him to set up another Ebay sale and you will then buy and pay.

Yeah exactly....
I guess that seller is one of the few who can still get their payments for items sent to PayPal and not MP?
I agree with skate_man1000 on how to handle that one. I'd never just send money directly to someone's PayPal account. Always use the Pay Now button to make any payments.

yea, that could lead to a scam im aware and thanks for your input. i can have him do that. my next question is what do i do with the current listing in my purchase hisstory? just let it sit there?

Yes you can leave it. It won't hurt anything.

I opened this account when they forced me into MP on my main account. That way I had an account that could transfer money quicker to my bank. But after 8 months they told me I had to switch to MP. I don't sell on this account anymore because of that.

Buyers have NO ABILITY to cancel an Ebay transaction. The "order" is not through PP, it is in Ebay. You can ask a seller to cancel a transaction, but you can't cancel a transaction. So unless you had your seller cancel the transaction, it should still be available to you. But check with your seller before doing anything.
If the seller didn't cancel the transaction, they can do that and then the seller can post the listing again for you to purchase from, just remind the seller to correct their PP address in the listing set up before you buy from it again. Then just purchase it again and pay for it normally.

One of the few? There's a huge # of sellers who haven't been migrated yet.

Your expectation is a bit too high for the reality at this time. We have about 7 million US sellers and somewhere in excess of 25 million sellers worldwide. Currently enrolled in MP is less than 1.5 million sellers. More are coming all the time, but we are no where near even half the sellers being active in MP yet.
