Can someone please explain how billing is handled with MP?

It seems the new mangled payment system takes Ebay fee's right off front long before you ever see your money but for some reason my invoice keeps growing. If they're taking the FVF and other fees when sold I don't understand why I owe even more money on top of already being charged when the item sold.

On a side note it seems to take about a week before funds make it to your bank account. It makes no sense that it should take so long. I contacted my credit union and they process ACH transfers twice a day. If the money comes before noon it's available that day, after noon it's a there the next day. There are several days unaccounted for from the time Ebay claims "completed" to the time it actually posts to my account. This new system is a nightmare and I don't foresee myself selling on here much longer.

There also seems to be a new fee for international sales that I don't remember having to pay before this new system was shoved down our throats. Greed, plain and simple.

After posting this I went back and refreshed my "payments" page and my invoice, amount owed, dropped back to where it was before MP kicked in. I guess they're still working out the kinks. If I understand it correctly we should no longer get a monthly bill from Ebay now that everything is collected up front?

I've also noticed I'm paying a per order fixed fee of .30 cents. To my knowledge I've never had to pay that before.

You will still get a monthly invoice for other eBay fees, like insertion, store, and some shipping items. They're only skimming the FVFs off the top.

I opted in a year ago, but the Simplified Fees was only implemented on August 12, 2020. I was thrilled to see my September invoice... at the low, low price of $59.95.

Everything else is as it is supposed to be... they skim my FVFs (and .30 per) off the top. Life is good.

@chopfooey  - with PayPal there was a percentage plus a $0.30 per transaction fee.  eBay went back and forth on this in earlier versions of the MP fee structure but they have currently settled on also charging a percentage plus a $0.30 per transaction fee.

As far as the invoice amount going up and then dropping again - that may be related to a glitch others have reported today.  https://community.ebay.com/t5/Seller-Hub/New-Activity-Not-Yet-Invoiced/m-p/31249712/highlight/true#M...

In general, FVF fees are being taken out at the time of sale, other fees such as store subscriptions, insertion fees, listing upgrade fees, Promoted Listing or other advertising fees, etc. will still be invoiced monthly.
