Hi All,
I’ve been out $350+ for a laptop I purchased through a MP seller on 12/16/20. When eBay was unresponsive to my requests for dispute claim, I opened a chargeback with my bank (I don’t use PayPal).
For reasons unclear to me, my bank decided against me and would not refund any money to me even though it was clear that the laptop had been sent back to sellers address and I had documentation from seller stating that they would be willing to refund my full purchase price since they receive their item back on 1/4/21.
My issue is that the seller has continued to claim that my banks chargeback still appears open in the eBay system and that in order to prevent things like a double refund, they must wait for the chargeback to appear closed and then they will issue me a full refund.
I’ve spoken with my bank and they’ve essentially said they’ve done all that is necessary on their part to close the dispute out and are unaware of any further actions they would need to initiate for the chargeback to appear as closed in the sellers account.
Is there a step in the chargeback/dispute process in which a bank can manipulate the eBay system in order To confirm that my financial institution has permanently closed my case so that I can pray to god that the seller keeps their word (and in writing) and refunds my money. My bank is
clueless on how they can do this chargeback closure from eBays perspective and for now, appears to be the only thing standing in my way of a processed refund from the seller.
What can I instruct my bank to do to officially close the case in eBays system ? I’ve been waiting almost 2 months for my money to be returned to me and I’m just about to give up. I’ve put in full time work hours to get this resolved but all with no success as of now. Your thoughts and suggestions are most appreciated especially ones that might expedite the process. I need to eat, pay bills, take care of my family and that money has been stolen from me.
Is it time for me to call the police I don’t know what else to do
thank you for reading
Laura

Once you opened a claim with your bank, there's nothing Ebay can do.
You'll just have to try and work it out with the seller, thy should be able to refund if they wanted to.
