A seller I just bought from wants to confirm my address, but I thought they got that information automatically after an order was paid for?
I've never had this asked before.

There was a glitch a few weeks ago where eBay was sending old shipping addresses so it's possible the seller is just wanting confirmation to make sure it isn't still happening.

From reading some other buyers posts in the past few months some buyers are getting upset that the item they purchased ends up coming directly from China even though the listing showed the seller in the USA.
Perhaps that is why.

HOW does a seller asking to confirm their buyer's address have anything to do with the item location or the seller's location?
Aside from that, the item location is in the listing details. The seller's location isn't. Many sellers in China have a warehouse in the U.S. and they ship from the U.S. That's allowed.
Their profile shows where they are phycally located.
What is not allowed is to misrepresent the item location and say USA shipping and ship from China. You should report the seller if that happens but more than likely they won't do anything because those sellers are clever and have a 2-3 week expected delivery time. All eBay cares about is if you get it by the delivery date.
