Hi everyone 👋 ,
I wanted to share a suggestion regarding permissions that could really improve security and usability for some sellers, especially those working in teams or with external partners. *
For our business, it would be very useful to have more flexible access controls. Specifically, our finance team only needs access to the "Payments" menu, but they shouldn’t be able to access "Account Settings" or other areas with account settings. It would also be helpful since they could log in with their personal account and have access to multiple business accounts with just one login.
This would provide a significant security boost, as not everyone would have access to the main account. I imagine larger businesses might not want to give all their employees full account access either. For smaller businesses, it’s common to outsource finances to third-party services, and they wouldn’t want these external partners to have access to everything.
In all our systems, except eBay, we use personal accounts for this reason—so everyone only has access to the data they need for their specific tasks. This is not only safer but also makes it easier for employees, as they aren’t overwhelmed by too many menus or options.
I’d love to know if there’s any way eBay could introduce some extra acces options, preferably for access to payments.**
Maybe other sellers in this community also see the benefits of having more customized access levels. Let’s start the conversation! 🙂
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your thoughts!

community_team Can I get any help to get this request to the right department? 😁

Where do you even find these sharing settings? Never seen it before.

Hi,
You can find these options in your account settings under Permissions.
Here, you're able to add new users by inviting them to your account with specific access and permissions.
The invited users should open a personal eBay account using the email address you invite them with.
Once you’ve sent the invitation, the user can log into their personal account and navigate to Settings > Permissions. From there, they’ll be able to access all the accounts they’ve been granted permissions for.
This is a useful tool if you're working with multiple teams, interns which you might not want to give acces too your full account settings or external parties who help manage your account. This is how it works for us, and I expect the process is the same for all sellers.
