Giving access to developers

Hi community,

I'm new and learned my writers made a major mistake on my listings that was killing my business.  I shut down 5 weeks ago to audit my entire inventory and now have the correct information but cannot edit my 12k listings myself because eBay's bulk edit feature does not include "size" (why?) as an edit option.
With my last bit of cash I've hired a developer who now wants my login information.  Is that necessary?  Adding him as another user is only slightly better.  How do y'all handle such security issues?

Grateful for any guidance you can provide.

Susan

Maybe if you provide more details on what exactly needs to be changed, someone might be able to help find a solution without the need of hiring another person. If you needing to make a universal change (same change to all listings you have), you should be able to apply that change to at least 500 listings at a time. If it is a universal change, it should not take you much time to update all 12k, even if you update 500 at a time.

Giving access to developers

Hi @paintingblackeyedsusan

Size for WHAT?  Clothing? Artwork? Tools? Tables? Chairs? Dish ware?

It sounds like the mistake was when you gave the listing process to your "writers" in the first place and never checked their work.

If this is your Selling account you don't have any recent Feedback ... like in the last 12 months.

If you have 12K items in your Unsold file you have 90 days to fix the listings.  I would suggest that you get started on that right away.

Best regards,

Hi @paintingblackeyedsusan . Do NOT give your login info to the developer under any circumstances!

If you must use a developer, they need their own eBay account and you can grant them access to your account using MUAA (Multi User Account Access).

However, if you give more info about what needs to be fixed we can probably advise ways to handle that in bulk either via the bulk edit tool or via the bulk upload tool.

For example, do you need to edit size text in a description? Size item specific? Are all items the same category? Etc.

Your account doesn't show any history so we can't see the listings.
