One lady comes out of her house and asks what I'm doing and if I live around here. Go figure.

Methinks you need to employ the opposite stratagem here. Take the pics in front of some half-collapsed burnt-out buildings in the 'hood. The truck'll look like a gem!

What are these half-collapsed burnt-out buildings you speak of? In my 'hood there is nothing but manicured lawns and fine architecture.

I think it's kind of funny and sounds like something an old boss of mine at a trucking company did. He was  a self made millionaire and eventually moved to a high rolling 'hood in NW OK City.

He was rich but wore overalls all the time and would climb right on top of a million miles  Cummins diesel and rip it apart for an overhaul.

The first week he drove his old beat up GMC pickup home and the neighbors sniveled over that.

A few weekends later neighbors saw him mowing his own lawn (the horror.....) and carped over that.

So one night he pulled a beater White Freightliner cabover out of the lot and drove it home; parking it in the street with oil and other fluids puking everywhere.

The neighbors were resorting to torches and pitchforks over that one........

He just told them that it was his daily commuter to hold down miles on his car.

Ati, you could make that old pickup more presentable if you would buff the headlight lenses. Ya got the tires (for you Canooks playing at hoome, "tyres".) shined up.

You couldn't tell from looking at it but that ole truck has over $2000 in recent parts and service. Tires, wheels, brake pads and rotors, brake shoes and drums, both rear parking brake cables, brake lines, brake fluid change, rear shocks, axle seals, 8 spark plugs, plug wires, coil pack, fan belt, radiator, coolant change,  fuel gauge float, etc.

They have 2 plugs per cylinder if some of our viewers didn't understand.

Yep. Just like the 4-cyl. Musty-stangs of that vintage.

Hopefully you didn't put that much into that pickup. Something like that in my area would bring no more $500 and take several months to sell, private or on a lot. Those old Ford Rangers, that are in good shape can bring good money.

Have in it less than what I could sell the new wheels and tires for. For something with over 400,000 miles, it runs pretty good. Engine sounds better than my 250,000 mile Ranger.
