If you have the 10K go for it.

If you did not find it on eBay...............  run

Re: 64 rambler wagon

Personally, I would buy it and retrofit it with air bags, anti-lock brakes, navigation and a modern computer controlled engine.

Then, I'd add an automatic climate control.

After doing all of those upgrades, I'd change the transmission to a 3-speed on the column.

Re: 64 rambler wagon

As a former dealer, I didn't answer a lot of questions from people on eBay.  I kept very accurate statistics early on and those that wanted more pics, more details, more of everything had about an 8% chance of being the buyer.

The ones that typically bought are the ones that read the listing, made the purchase and went home happy.

So, in summary, all of the back and forth was a 92% chance that it was just a waste of time.

Re: 64 rambler wagon

You need to understand that, on eBay, motor vehicle listings do not work like listings in other categories.

eBay very strongly recommends that a potential buyer of a car make arrangements to go to the car's location, taking cash with him.  There he inspects the car very carefully.  If he wants it, fine, he pays and takes the car. If not, then he thanks the owner for his time and walks away, no harm, no foul.  Failing the ability to do that, he should at least hire a mechanic and pay  him to do the inspection.

There is no Money Back Guarantee for buyers on car purchases on eBay.  There is no "hassle of getting your cash back" because, basically, you can't.  And most deposits are stated by the seller to be non-refundable.

Re: 64 rambler wagon

There is a general business philosophy among car dealers and it goes like this:

Why should I bother with you when the next person will come up, lay the money on the table and go home?

You see, you have all done this to yourselves by nit picking and driving the dealers to the point of just being a vending machine.  Not happy?  Go away.
