Here is a challenge for some of you younger guys and anybody else who wants to participate. I just sat down here and thought of 40 names of railroads that used to exist in the 1950's & 60's. Without any research or cheating of any kind see how many you can come up with then maybe we will figure out how to comopile a list to see which ones we forgot. Mike PS: how is my spelling this time Dad?

Fearless, Usually up pretty early and check in with group before I get busy. Since you do the same (being 1'30") ahead it seems we are around about the same time. You do retire before I do and I have wait until the next day to get your replys. Mike ps: will be out of touch the next few days as we are having company and taking that trip to niagAra falss.

Pete, I don't think we are carrying both groups, it's kind of hard to do that when the WHOLE core moved. Besides nobody seems to be saying anything interesting over there anymore. THIS is where it's at. OH Jeeves, would you cut the tip off my cigar and bring me another martoonie while I converse with the other members of "The Club". Punk

Pete check out the Happy 4th of July discussion in group #1. Its seems maybe my answer may have got a vet to respond instead of just looking as I do not remember seeing his name before. So there still maybe hope for group #1 after all, or at least we can hope. I do agree that the discussions have gotten fewer along with the answers. A couple of days they only had one discussion answered. Although the poll (bad word sorry) shows that 35 people have voted. Lou just sitting back and watching.

Lou, I saw that post and found it funny in a way that it was posted by the very person who caused the creation of this group. You all know I'm a Nam vet and we have others in this group who are vets too. I didn't open a 4th of July discussion. Didn't think it was necessary as we have all expressed our thanks to our troops many times in various discussions. My son is a career soldier too. Right now he is a Drill Instructor (SFC) at Ft. Dix, NJ. But I digress. Here are the "D"s..... Dayton & Western Delaware & Bound Brook Delaware & Cobb's Gap Delaware & Hudson Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Delaware, Lehigh, Schuylkill & Susquehanna Delaware Otsego Delaware & Interurban Denver & New Orleans Denver & Rio Grande Denver & Rio Grande Western Denver & Salt Lake Denver, Leadville & Gunnison Denver, Northwestern & Pacific Denver Pacific Denver, South Park & Pacific Denver, Texas & Fort Worth Denver, Texas & Gulf Des Moines & Central Iowa Des Moines & Fort Dodge Des Moines North Western Des Moines Valley Detroit & Lima Northern Detroit & St. Joseph Detroit & Toledo Shore Line Detroit, Grand Rapids & Western Detroit, Lansing & Northern Detroit, Mackinac & Marquette Detroit Southern Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Douglas, Augusta & Gulf Dublin & Southwestern Dublin & Wrightsville Dubuque & Dakota Dubuque & Northwestern Dubuque & Sioux City Duluth & Iron Range Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Duluth, Missabe & Northern Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Duluth, Superior & Michigan Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific Durham & Southern That's all for today. I'm still interested!! Like I said before, I plan to print out the list to hang in the layout room. It'll be a fun conversation piece! (And it might keep the rivet counters busy and off my back!) :-) Fred (okay, I give in... how'd ya make the devil face?)
