Here is a challenge for some of you younger guys and anybody else who wants to participate. I just sat down here and thought of 40 names of railroads that used to exist in the 1950's & 60's. Without any research or cheating of any kind see how many you can come up with then maybe we will figure out how to comopile a list to see which ones we forgot.
Mike
PS: how is my spelling this time Dad?
I looked up "railroad listings by railroad codes" on Google and got a complete alphabet of Rail names but I don't know if they are for current or fallen flags or both.
Buffalo Creek is the BCK and there is a Buffalo Creek & Gauley from W. Va. BCG.
A lot of Industrial Lines listed.
Just in case anyone is interested.
So, Pete, were you aware of that line when you were in Buffalo? Just curious. I thought that it could go with your MTNY State Collector Car ;)

Fred,
No that name was new to me totally. As I said before, running behind the house were NYC, PA, NKP, Erie and Lackawana.
I led a sheltered life.......

Gee, no one has been here for over a year.....and after all the work I did typing those lists.
Anyone think of any more lines that were not in the original list?
B-) & :x
I had a couple wbsites bookmarked that had all the RR's reporting marks and what they stood for.
