Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

we have GST as well but having to pay tax on stuff you buy in the states and then take home sounds like a crock to me, why pay double tax, you have paid it when you buy, why should you pay again to take it home, glad I'm an aussie. ]:)

Depends on if you are over your limit for one. 24 hrs in USA and each person can claim 50 duty free. I'm not sure for over 48 hrs, 7 days or more and it is 750. We were over our limit for less than 48hrs, and looking at the receipt some stuff had duty +gst +pst other stuff was duty only and some other stuff was pst+gst.

Oh well can't do much about it. With what's going on around the world, it's still a good country to live in.....most of the time. 😉

No progress to RR as I spent a lot of my time off out in garage making stuff such as a slide out rack to store car cleaning stuff and another slide out for holding clamps.. Hung up my new cabinet so now all my motor oil, grease, lubes and other flammables are outta the way. Busy now making a shelf in laundry room to store my excess military gear and whatever else needs to be stacked out of the way. Sawdust D

just got in from doing my annual PT test. I'm good for another year and I can continue going back to the middle east. I guess one of the guys that was supposed to go over with us failed his test.

Gee Dave, It sounds like you really like the sand and heat and those Burka clad hairy women.....or is it realy the camel? Ever thought of flunking a PT test on purpose? Maybe that is why you are shy one guy......]:) B-)

Na. Ya don't wanna fail a PT test. They are cracking down now on that as far as career implications. Plus you then go on remedial PT meaning attending 3 PT sessions/week.

I have one of those Canadian Tire mastercraft zillion piece titanium drill bit set in the blue metal box (for those into hardware , Cdn folks know what I am talking about) anyhoo I broke 3 bits a couple weeks ago so I figured I'd take them back for warranty replacement. (Mastercraft line is lifetime guarrantee) So the hardware guy picks up the same set I have and gives it to the returns lady who tells me to pick out the ones I need. Asked for my phone number and then tells me the drill bits are only guarranteed for one year. Crap. I told her I thought is was lifetime but she said one year. So she asked me how long ago did I buy the set. Ah...back in the spring...yea that's it. I then looked at the packaging (of the new set) and turns out it said limited guarrantee for a year and doesn't include broken drillbits. So saying nothing, I picked out the needed pieces (she said to replace any others that I wanted) so I replaced one that we burned up drilling ceramic tile) and I grabbed my set and walked away. whew!!! Gotta love Crappy Tire for returns...

You sneak! The only tools I buy are Craftsman just because of a real life time warranty. Some of my tools are 40 years old. Craftsman are hard to break but I did manage to bust a swivel joint once. Sears replaced it no questions asked. I have to find a good bit sharpener soon. Anybody know who makes a good one? I'm talking about full size bits, not the small hobby ones. Those I replace. B-)

Dad, Grab a "Drill Doctor", they are great for sharpening drill bits. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10153_12605?vName=Tools&keyword=drill+doctor&sLevel=0&sid=ISx20070... A few weeks ago I walked into Sears with two broken ratchets, one 3/8, and one 1/2 inch drive. The clerk looked up, saw me walking towards him, he reached into a drawer, pulled out two ratchets, one 3/8, and one 1/2 inch drive, and he handed them to me. Not a word was spoken, except for me telling the man thanks. Their ratchets suck, but they do have an outstanding warranty. CJ]:)

I have a Sears socket set and I like the ratchets in it. The handles feel comfortable and they have the knurled hub so you can spin the socket by hand. (hard to explain what I mean unless you do the same) My mechanic tools are half/half of Sears and Cdn Tire but what is Cdn Tire is the MasterCraft Professional series. Drills and table saw are Sears. As I buy more stuff I tend to go with Sears. it's a lot easier to look at stuff when it isn't locked behind glass doors like crappy tire across the street. i notice Sears hasn't had any ads with that yutz bob villa for few years now.

Thanks for the hint CJ. I'll have to search for one up here or on-line. Sears wants $189 in the store here for the 750X model. I only need a cheaper model. B-)

I'm back in wonderland. You know the place I can't say but they have really flamboiyant architecture and lots of sand oil and gold ;) It's around 35 C here so much cooler than last time. Kinda funny watching the new guys with me roast and I am just comfy. It is apparently much colder (in the negs) up North. Not looking to going up there to crappy weather. Anyhoo I made it here safely. After leaving Trentonm, had a stopover in Bonn, Germany. It was frikken cold there. Between the temp and jetlag it was an early night. But I got to see a bit of the city and had a few local beer and glass of wine and nice german supper. Delta Lima out
