Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

Is it true that the women all smell like camel dung? I hear that is the most popular scent over there. Something that really turns on the Arab men...... SmileyCentral.com

No. Quite a few are easy on the eyes and now and then you catch a sniff of them as they walk by, and with it being no shortage of money here, they smell quite good due to expensive perfume. I like to think the ones that have a face of a Mack truck are the ones with the face covered.

Dave, I know where you are and so do most of the group, but don't you think that it is sad that if they have money they want to be more "westernized" and if they are poor they want to hide? I'm talking the women here. You are in a Muslim country and you can see the faces of women? I suppose they wear jeans and mid-riff tops too..... We all know they have an indoor ski slope....... And the world says that Americans are decadent.... SmileyCentral.com

Actually Pete some do. It is quite extreme here for the scale of-----------/ I can't think of the word. I'll break it down; -It is a very liberal emirate here. Others are still very old fashioned. Some of them still stone women for adultry, if a male toursist has tattoos on his arm, then he must wear long sleeve shirt, women tourists can't show legs or arms. -This place is very westernized. Don't forget that this area was once a british colony long ago. With that said; -you will see women in burkas (bedsheet dress) with their heads/face covered. Some even pimp their dress by wearing the chrome/gold plated nose cover plate (silly looking) And either a large slit for their eyes or completely covered. -I saw one in the mall (quite hot looking face) who had the dress on but no head covering. And you could see her blue jeans when she walked. -Even though they wear the burkas, a lot of them will wear regular clothes underneath, some being "dressed to the nines". -And then there are the modern liberal ones who will be in the mall with skin-tight jeans and a short t-shirt showing her midriff? (belly) section. They (people) are so materialistic here. (probably due to the indispensible amount of money they have) This city is like the Las Vegas of t he middle east. except for the gambling. The buildings are SO wicked for architectual design/styling. Lots of hookers too. Sorry CJ, no pics of them.

Did an overnighter in North Dakota. We left early sat morning and went to Fargo (everything was booked solid in Grand Forks for sat night on the internet so managed to get a room in Fargo, an hour south) Did some shopping. Picked up a metal cabinet at Sears for $99 USD/CDn (nowadays) it was on sale reg 159. Sears Canada lists the same one at 249. Also picked up a 18V battery for drill for $25. Salesman in 'peg told me they could order it but it was almost a 100 bucks. Another great deal. Sun we left and drove up to grand Forks for the day. Sears there had the dame cabinet on sale for 145. SO I am glad i picked it up in Fargo when i did. The same battery was 29 . Misses spent 250 on clothes so between us Customs liked us. But we still daved a lot... Saw a few trains, yet to look at pictures as misses took them. more later..

Yea, I claimed everything. It's not worth trying to sneak stuff cause if ya get caught your file gets flagged in the computer and life sucks everytime you go tru. I spent 150 and misses spent 250 on clothes. so we ended up paying $42 in duty/gst/pst Gas was cheaper in Fargo. I got 91 octane for $3.20 in Grand Forks. I think I saw 87 ocatne somewheres for 3.05 - 3.10 range.

seems like the Canadian government want their pound of flesh constantly,do you have to pay every time you use the toilet? I can travel everywhere here and not worry about borders, only have to pay to use the main highways and thats usually $1.80 at the toll booth, the tax system over there sux ]:)

Yeah Barry. Our Govt. taxes everything. It's called a "goods and services tax". That means we pay tax on item we buy like TVs and cars and we also pay tax on services like attorney fees or dinner at a restaurant or cable tv. Fun huh! Right now the rate is 14%. Go out for dinner, have a $100 bill and pay $14 tax on it too....plus tip of course! The theory is that all these taxes support the "free" medical system. Right! If it's so good, how come the wait for treatment is months and how come we have a shortage of nurses too, who are all leaving to go to the US for better wages. We are taxed to death. Oh yeah. They tax funeral services too! B-)
