Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

After I dismantled it, I realized, wasn't there some company that has software and stuff so you can make your computer control the track signals? But ten for what those little functioning signals cost, I'll just put up the cheap ones. Got too much to do to layout before I get to that stage.

Took a buddy/co worker out railfanning to the CN mainline east of the city. We were out there for 3+ hours and saw 5 trains. lots of photos between the 2 of us. We took pics of one train and then heard some radio chatter of another train thanking (the one just passed) for the heads up?? Turned out this first train radio'ed back to the second train saying there's a couple train goons trackside. So when the second train came along, he blasted the horns for us and gave a 'high 5' to us. Most exciting part was rather funny. Frank thought he could hear distant rumbling from the west. I thought I heard something from the north so I said lets go to the diamond (where CP crosses the CN line) As we were heading eastward, I saw exhaust in the distance which meant an unexpected westbound. As we got to the CP crossing, I spotting a CP grain train coming out from behind a treeline, which meant a meet between the CP and CN. Well, the CN intermodal stopped/turned off headlights, the CP sat stopped and Frank looked back and saw an intermodal coming east which seemed like it had the priority at the diamond. So 3 trains just like that. Also saw a Mammoet (large european crane) on a 8axle HD flat car. First train had 2 larger locos and a mother/slug set but didn't notice the slug until I had already snapped off continous pics of lead unit (rats) Great way to start the long week. try to get some pics resized and uploaded to ya.

Got a call for job interview. (not with a RR company) hope things work out 'cause I'm getting fed up fast with the place I work at. One thing on the go where maybe it is their intent but seems like their trying to stick blame on me. Hard to describe due to technical stuff, but p sses me off after an indepth talk this morning about it. And then they come back at another angle to see if it is something we are missing. Seems like someone high up in my office is quick to say sorry than they are to try challenge other people. So hopefully I can have the pleasure to give my 30 days notice. (and change my phone number after that, heheheheh)

made a trip to Slum Depot and picked up some material. I'm gonna tear up my industrial park and the up-n-over loop and revamp it so my industrial park isn't mostly low relief bldgs.

Had the BBQ deer last night. Didn't do much for me, maybe due to it being very lean. I'd rather have beef steak. Bison is good too. (friend gave me some deer steaks the other day to try)

Lean is good for you, doesn't always have the same taste as a bit fatty, I have always wanted to try deer, can you compare it to something I have eaten maybe. ]:) Deer or elk taste about the same as moose. Kinda dry actually. That's why these meats are best cooked as a stew with a red wine based or tomatoe based sauce, cooked slowly at a low temp. Game steaks should be grilled only to a medium rare state to keep them from drying out. I have some great recipies for game roasts if anyone is interested. B-) -- Edited by ginzokid at 05/04/2009 4:22 AM PDT I can't think of anything to compare it to. I didn't even find it had a game taste to it. They were thin steaks so I think I overcooked them. It was nothing like kangaroo. That I wish I could get imported to a butcher here. Otherwise I'm happy to stick with my barnyard critters meal. (chicken, pig, cow) never had horse. -- Edited by dl85vette at 05/04/2009 2:26 PM PDT

When I was younger, we had fried rabbit at my Grandfathers house. Just had to avoid the shotgun pellets. Charles

wallaroo In NY http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2009/05/bandit_the_wallaroo_still_hopp.html Now this is definitely informative and well worth a read..... When a moose is spotted on or near the highway here, people call in to the radio stations and a "moose alert" is announced. Those babies are BIG!!!!!!
