Picked up another MRC sound decoder. I'm getting tired of not being able to rreassemble my kato sd40-2 so bought the decoder.
IRRITATION- LOTS of machining required. the machining in fuel tank area is no biggie. It's the fair bit of material needs to be machined on top of chassis for the decoder to fit (due to components on decoder board)
So I'm a little hessitant to do that much but I am sure I can do it. Just don't rush at it.
I'll look at the frame again tomorrow and perhaps I'll feel more adventurous. What's the worst that can happen, F**k the frame up and having to wait 4 months for a new frame from Kato? I shaded the areas (requiring milling) with a marker and it loos to be all areas where there is meat. (thicker portions of frame that looks like I can shave down, plus not affecting motor/mounts journals, etc.
feeling human today,
dave
