Looking for reference material - Life-Like Line

Hello everyone, new member here (crickets sound in the background…)

Looking for some help in locating information on the Life-Like line of trains. I’m starting to do more selling of model railroad products, primarily the earlier items and I’m looking for a solid reference site or books that would give me some insight into this product line.

Thanks in advance,

@larrysbasement

Re: Looking for reference material - Life-Like Line

I'm sure you have googled Life-Like and found out that the original company is now owned by Walthers. My suggestion is, besides google searches, try to obtain older copies of Walthers catalog before they took it over. A search on eBay itself will also give you an idea of what vintage Life-Like trains are selling for and if there is any demand for them. You might find the older Walthers catalogs here too. If you have access to Model Railroader's 75 Year Collection DVD, you can look for Life-Like ads and reviews there. And one more place to look is on line at Moderlailroader.com.  Good luck.

Re: Looking for reference material - Life-Like Line

Still looking for Life-Like info? Try the February 2016 issue of Model Railroad News. In the Archives section at the rear of the issue is an article about Life-Like GP38-2s from the 1970s, and other models of that era. You might just try to contact Tony Cook, the author and magazine editor at editor@modelrailroadnews.com via email. It sounds like he may have a lot more information.
