I know about headlights and ditch lights and FREDs (sorry Fred) but what the heck is a Mars light and who from Mars would want to see it? Gene

Re: Lights

I thought the ditch lights were as barry said as well. As far as model RR, If the lights were bright enuf, then the lights would be seen 800 scale ft in front of loco, so I;m sure the alignment is close enuf. Chuck, are you turning into a rivet counter on us ;) just jokin.. It was a good question, got us thinking once again. I wouldn't mind running at a light dusk setting, just enuf that the lack of loco lights wouldn't be critical, but enuf to see treet lights illuminate.

Re: Lights

I have a question about the newer line of all cabooses. The body is held on by tabs at both ends. So far I have ruined 2 of them by braking the tabs. The body does not stay on when they are broken. How do you get the shells off without breaking these tabs? The older cabooses had little tabs on the side that you just pried open and the shell came right off. Thanks in advance for any help. Chuck

Re: Lights

I know of what you speak, I have pulled these cars apart, very slowly, I think from memory you need a jewelers screw driver and slowly pry the tabs and lift the shell at the same time, it is a quite brittle plastic but can be seperated, after all Atlas does them undecorated and you have to dismantle them to be able to paint them. ]:)

Re: Lights

Hint. After you manage to pry them off like Barry said, file the lip on the tab down a bit to make it a little thinner. That way, the fit will not be so tight if you have to remove the shell again. B-)
