Re: Irritations #2

Well Pete, nice you got through the storm OK. For panic buying around here, if snow is predicted, there is a run on milk and toilet paper... Charles PS, we did get some fierce rain for a bit, lots of green grass now. One storm front came zipping up quickly with a real obvious cloud front, I will post a photo.

Re: Irritations #2

Looks like we may get another tropical storm this weekend if Danny turns north. Fortunately hurricanes require warm water and we don't have that much of it up here in the north Atlantic, unless the gulf stream is flowing just right. That's why hurricanes always seem to be downgraded to tropical storms before they hit us. As much as I hate all the wind and rain, it sure beats the wind and sand of the Arizona dust storms! B-)

Re: Irritations #2

So been at a new site for couple of days and already backstabbed. evening person told supervisor that I didn't show up til 10pm on my first midnight, when in fact I was there for 945. I told him the time I showed up and he said the person was lying then, and that she does it ll the time and everyone at site knows she lies. NICE!!! One enemy in my books now. not impressed.

Finally got the puter back. If I was computer literate I would probably have been able to solve the problem but now all is well. Week after next the grandkids go back to school and we will be done with our summer daily and sometimes overnight grandkids siting. Yeah. Gonna take a week and go into the New England States. Maybe even visit Ben and Jerrys! VT and NH mostly. glad all is well up on the Rock. People do the strangest things when a storm comes around. I do have to admit when on the shore and a storm blows I like to walk the beach however the storms I mean are not the storms that hurricanes bring.

Re: Irritations #2

Well she is getting better, but will be on the seisure medication for life at which she more or less stuck her tongue out at the doctor and blew (so to speak). And by the way the Dr.'s name is Richard Head, you can take it from there what she call's him (No joke it's his real name). She still can't drive (State Law) or work (can't drive) until Jan or Feb and can't get unemployment because she can't look for work. We have started looking into SSI disabilty because being Certified Nurses Aide the state may not allow her to go back to work. Anyway she is getting better and we just take it one day at a time for now. But still not working on the trains at this time, but they are in my heart still but she comes first and foremost. Lou

Re: Irritations #2

Lou, I and my brother have both been on SSI Disability because we can't work for many years. You will find that the disability payments are larger than the regular SS payments at retirement. Apply right away. It takes a while for processing and of course you will have many forms to fill out and Dr. reports to obtain. It's worth it. You will also find that she will get a backdated lump-sum payment to the date she first applied for the disability followed by monthly payments. So apply right now! I might also suggest that if you do not have medical powers of attorney for each other and general powers of attorney, that you get with a lawyer and do so soon. Living wills are also something you should look into. B-)

Re: Irritations #2

The shop I bought my scooter from!!!!! 3 weeks my scooter has been there!!!!!!! I called them today to find out the status as a part was apparently shipped out last friday. Tonight they told me that they were on the phone with Tomos Canada trying to find out where the pat went to. Famous last words. Call us tomorrow at same time so we can find out in the daytime what the story is for the part. They are ticking me off something fierce!!!!! I am at the point of telling them to fix the other problem and I will take my scooter away. I'll live without the kick starter (has electric start) I've had the scooter for a month, not even 400 km on it and haven't been able to enjoy it since. Time I get it back it will be snowing out. I will be sure to tell all my friends to pass onto others not to do business at this shop. frikken rediculous!!!

Re: Irritations #2

Since last week or so the issue is Tomos Canada and their fine choice in using Purolator for the courier.. Part went out last wednesday night (according to track #). Today is Monday as still no part. Shop owner has been on the phone ragging out Purolator. Once I get scooter back, I'm writing to Tomos Canada and tell them that even thought the courier issue is out of their hands , the fact still remains that I bought their product and that I lost a month of driving season and costing me money for insurance on a bike I don't even have. Shop owner isn't impressed with courier either.

Re: Irritations #2

Still painting! The kitchen is finished but the half bath is going to take at least two coats to cover the pink with the tan.....maybe three! Will it ever dry? ]:)

Re: Irritations #2

Dave how about a photo of this great burden you seem to have saddled your self with, I'm sure others would like to see your frustrations. Pete are you painting the bathroom or the tub, if the tub, you can buy special paint for acrylic baths, at least here you can. ]:)

Re: Irritations #2

Scooter pics posted in my trainspot folder. One peice cracked (small metal shaft/tube) and the spring broke...both for the kickstart. Carb just needed adjusting for the other issue. Went out with a buddy for a couple hours tooling on our scooters. He has a vespa.

Re: Irritations #2

Painting the half bath. Walls and ceiling only. I'm waiting for the professionals to come to install my new granite countertop, sheet vinyl flooring and new hopper. The half bath was a dark pink (yuck! done by former owner) and the tan I'm putting over it is taking two coats, maybe three. There is no tub or shower. B-)
