Come on Marc, be serious.
Chuck,
Go to one of the internet train stores and check the prices. I'm afraid that acrylics do go for about that much. Acrylics in tubes are fine if you want to mix them yourself with water to get the right consistency. And stay away from the enamels as they tend to be glossy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, look in the craft section for "craft acrylic paints" usually called "creamed paints". They are flat, non toxic and come in tons of colors. That's all I use any more and the price it right....cheap because the bottle is much bigger. My local hardware store, Home Depot and Walmart all carry the craft paints. You just know who is the cheapest don't you.
The colors you have seen on the models I have posted are all craft paints. They clean up with water and have no smell or toxins.
B-)
