"Events and Offers" notifications setting resets

This is the same as "How do I stop annoying propaganda notifications from ebay?"

Every time I uncheck the "Events and Offers" notification setting, it gets set again after a few days.

Why? (Conspiracy theory anyone?)

No problem! We want to figure out why this happened. Did you uninstall or sign out or upgrade your app, or was it random.

No, I did not uninstall the app. No, I did not sign out. But I'm unsure re upgrade. I keep my phone up-to-date so the last update was when 5.38.0.14 was released. So I guess it is random.

No, other notification settings appear OK.
