seller lists an item with photos.
i can see the photos in the listing in the android app.
i'd like to see an additional angle of the item. i message the seller for a photo of the additional angle.
seller sends a message with the requested photo.
at this point, i can see a thumbnail of the photo, in the seller's message, in the app. but if i tap on that thumbnail so i can zoom in, the app opens up the desktop version of ebay.com (inside the app). which is pretty clunky, but ok. however, even if i tap the thumbnail from here, i only get a black screen with a tiny 1990s-html-style "image missing" icon in the middle.
i see this same behavior if i send someone a message with a photo and then try to open the image from my sent message in the app.
so there is no way to see a full-size image, inside a message, inside the android app.
i'm on a galaxy s9 plus with the latest and greatest version of the app available in the play store, and i see the same behavior on a galaxy tab e running nougat with the latest and greatest version of the app available in the play store. this behavior has been around for years, and has persisted through multiple devices and however many versions of the app there have been during that time.
