If you have been notified to update your eBay app, here are the steps to take to get the latest version onto your device. You need to have iOS 14 or higher to get the latest version from the Apple App Store

Open the App Store app on your device
Search for eBay app in the App Store
Select ‘Update’ button next to the eBay app title

iOS 12 - If your device is running iOS 12 you might be able to install an older version from the App Store

Delete the ebay app from the device
Open the app store app
Tap account button
Tap Purchased
Scroll to the eBay app and tap the cloud and down arrow icon

If your device cannot be upgraded to iOS 12 you can use the Safari browser to access ebay.

This is **bleep**, I run iOS 10 and the ebay app was working perfectly, now it is expired and refuses to work and I cannot update. What are they thinking?! Do they not want the business of those of us who use older devices? I do most of my ebay browsing and purchasing on my phone so this is going to save me a substantial amount of money at ebay's expense.

I don't want to update my phone and I'm sure I'm not the only one so why is it so hard to just keep an old version of the app? This will most certainly cause me not to bother with eBay as much now!

Also there is items in my basket on the app that are not even showing on the browser page, sort it out! I now can't get to them! And this is just another reason the browser version is rubbish!

Outrageous.

My iPad works perfectly fine but because it operates on iOS 10.3.4 your app no longer works fine. Bad move.

The suggestion being to upgrade the iPad (i.e. buy another) to one that can accommodate iOS 11 or 12. Even worse move.

...and in these cash-strapped Covid-19 dates too. Worse still.

Appalling decision. Appalling company.

Retro-activate this decision.

Make an app available for older iOS. Now!

top rated buyer and seller for years and now I'm discarded. iPad 3 with 10.3.4 update and now ebay is dumping me. What a ridiculous way to run a business, either buy a new iPad or don't shop here. Well I'm sorry but it looks like it's bye bye, been good but it's time to look elsewhere.

I am running 10.3.3 and app will reload from App Store with the "latest compatible version" but this will still not work. Message on screen telling me version is out of date, buttons for "OK" and "update", update not selectable and app crashes back to pad home screen whatever you do.

I totally agree I am a conseirge customer huge buyer and sell if app not updated I will not be using eBay again it's disgusting

someone at ebay needs to be fired. Not only is this poor customer service it is bad business practice. At a time when shopping online has increased ebay has deliberately chosen to reduce its customer base. Well Amazon marketplace and facebook must be rubbing their hands in glee. More customers because of a competitors failure to be aware of what the market wants.

I'm in the middle of selling a ton of stuff because I'm skint after being locked down for so long and you're now telling me I've got to buy a new iPad so that I can complete my sales ?

Many Thanks EBay for dumping me because I have iOS 10.3.3 on an older iPad.

it works perfectly fine for me and everything I want to do with it, i have no intention of replacing it currently, I'm not interested in your suggestion of using the browser version through Safari, been there tried that.

So if you don't want me, and I guess a lot of other people judging by the traffic about this issue then I will take my business and money elsewhere.

Maybe all of us cast offs should get together and setup an online marketplace.......

Seems I will no longer be using eBay, member since 2004 but shall be looking elsewhere now. I am not going to be forced into buying a new iPad just because you want me to. Goodbye eBay.

Fantastic. So I delete my app perhaps losing all my data accociated with the app to download again an older version? Frustrating to say the least. I'd be really upset and feel abandoned by ebay if I had to go through a browser. Great decision.
